Reasons for Rehoming

Why neutered cats from my cattery look for a new home from time to time:
I want to keep improving my breeding, so I try to plan good, unique pairings and keep good youngsters for future breeding.
Sometimes cats have to be neutered (because some genetically inheritable defect shows up), and then they drop in the pecking order within my group of cats.
Others sadly just don't get along with each other, and some get bullied!
Highly potent studs don't have a nice life; they usually have to be kept on their own. That's why a stud doesn't stay in my breeding programme for long; he is neutered and rehomed.
I wouldn't have the space, the time or the money to care for all of them properly. I only have two hands, so how much cuddling and attention would each cat get among so many.........
A neutered cat that has found a loving cuddly home with a companion or a youngster is better off there than in my breeding household!
Too many cats in one household means emotional stress for the cats, the risk of illness rises, and I can't attend enough to the needs of each individual cat, so they are or become unhappy!

Rehoming and costs

Murphy & Cassiopeia will only be rehomed together.
Zanza can move to a quiet home with a calm cat or live as an only cat.
Destiny and Zez will only be rehomed together, at a special price.

Cost of an adult, neutered cat
An adult, neutered cat from me has a fixed price of 700 euros!
I have learned that many animal shelters charge from 150 euros for mixed-breed cats and 150 to 350 euros for adult pedigree cats.
Cats leaving my cattery are healthy, microchipped, vaccinated and neutered (spaying a female alone costs at least €110 according to the veterinary fee schedule). They are also well socialised and have no behavioural problems.
I have no need to sell my darlings off cheaply. Instead, I carefully look for a good home with loving people where they can happily spend the rest of their lives.
